FIESTAS PATRONALES Y FERIA DE LA PIEDAD

The patron saint festivities and fair of La Piedad are held every year in mid-August, coinciding its big day on August 15, where numerous events are held in honor of the patron saint and where the traditional fair takes place in the fairgrounds

The Almendralejo Festivities are celebrated from 12 to 17 August approximately. Among the most important events is the celebration of a novena in honor of Our Lady of Mercy. On August 15, the most important events are concentrated: the ascent of the Virgin to her sanctuary, coronation of the queen and her ladies, proclamation of the festivities, appointment of the winemaker of honor, obtaining the first must and blessing and offering of fruits to the Virgin of La Piedad. In the fairgrounds are mounted numerous stands and attractions without forgetting the competitions, the wine fountain and bullfights.
